Half-Life 2 on a 24" x 24" gallery wrapped canvas | mixed media 2008

In the spirit of "Pop Art" this is a depiction of Mass Popular Culture (gaming) as Art. Half-Life 2 is a science fiction first-person shooter computer game that takes place in a dystopia. In this painting the character Alyx Vance (the daughter of Dr. Eli Vance who is also depicted in this painting) stands next to a gravity gun and communicates with human rebels. Alyx Vance fights for freedom.

$500

This is Lyla-belle. She is a purebred, red and white beagle. Born at a Lancaster puppy mill, she was bred and then discarded.

This series of paintings illustrate her life as a stray on the streets of Philadelphia as she searches for safety.

I use paint to tell meaningful stories with images. When I paint these images I use color to portray feeling, such as the changing light of day and the moods it creates. Additionally, I use symbolic subjects to express common themes significant to all individuals. For example, the stray dog paintings are about more than just a stray dog. These paintings represent any individual that at one time struggled and then prevailed.
The dog is all of us.
